Learn about llamas at the Broken Windmill Ranch.
Llamas
are the lloveable llivestock we raise and have many
uses from show animals
to companion animals to a wonderful
source of fiber,
which handspinners love
to work with.

Whistward, Ho! at the Kokopelli
Llama Classic in
Grand Junction, Colorado on April 30, 2006.
The photo was taken just after his second birthday.
The Broken Windmill
Ranch is located about 50 miles southeast
of Denver, Colorado,
on the very
high prairie (nearly 7000 feet
above sea level),
outside of the small town of
Elizabeth, Colorado.
The local climate is
perfect for raising llamas because it never gets
too hot, too humid, or too cold
for them here.
Llamas are native
to high altitude, and function here better than
most people do!
